Choosing the right team combination

The most unusual thing that happened in the first T20I was India’s team combination. India’s three regular wicketkeepers MS Dhoni, Rishabh Pant and Dinesh Karthik all played the match.

MSD and DK were selected to give extra match time ahead of the World Cup. But Pant’s inclusion wasn’t justifiable. Because of his inclusion, India played one less bowler. They banked on Pandya brothers and Khaleel to stop the run-flow, which they failed.

India has a batting which goes all the way to Bhuvi. But the management must leave out Rishabh Pant or Vijay Shankar to accommodate Kuldeep Yadav. Shankar has impressed with his bat and can bowl a couple of decent overs. This means Pant have to sit out for the 2nd T20I.
