The 12th edition of the glamorous Indian Premier League is just weeks away. The build up to the grand event has already started. Moreover the first match will be a grand event where Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) will face each other.

The match between CSK and RCB is scheduled to be played in Chennai on March 23. Last year CSK came back from a two-year ban and lifted their third IPL title. On the other hand RCB hasn’t yet got their hands on the beautiful trophy.

CSK lead RCB by 15-7 in head-to-head battle

Both CSK and RCB will be hell-bent to prove their supremacy in the opening game of IPL 2019. RCB will be eager to improve their record against the Kings. CSK currently lead the head-to-head battle by 15-7 and last lost to RCB in Ranchi way back in 2014.

Since then CSK had a straight six wins over RCB whenever they met. Last year despite Kohli’s good form, RCB failed to make it to the knock-out stages. As a result they have improved their lineup strongly.

They have included exciting talents like South African Heinrich Klaasen and Shimron Hetmyer from the West Indies. Besides them they have home-grown talents like Shivan Dube, Akashdeep Nath and Prayas Ray Barman.

BCCI has so far announced the fixtures of first two weeks. They waited for the announcement of the Lok Sabha elections schedule. The election were announced recently and will kick off on April 11. It is to be seen how BCCI accommodates the rest of the fixtures before the 2019 World Cup.
