There were speculations that David Warner and Steve Smith will join the national team very soon. The 12-month ban will be lifted at the end of 28 March. As a result everyone thought they will play the last two games five-match ODI series against Pakistan.
But Cricket Australia surprised everyone and didn’t include their names. Moreover it was Australia’s last international assignment before the World Cup. Well now after days of not including their names, the team management have decided to change their decision.
According to some reports, the former captain and vice-captain will join the national team in Dubai. They will then join their respective IPL franchises when the tournament begins on March 23.
This big development means both the players will play in the upcoming World Cup. Warner and Smith played a huge role in Australia’s World Cup win in 2015. There Smith was top-scorer for the team while Warner finished second.

The players’ visit to the national team will be very important for both of them. It will give them the opportunity to reconnect with their teammates. There were major changes in the dressing room as Justin Langer replaced Darren Lehmann as head coach. Smith and Warner will also get accustomed to the changes in the dressing room.
After the ball-tampering scandal, BCCI had not allowed Smith and Warner to play in last year’s IPL. However the franchises haven’t left the star players.
