Despite being 2-0 up in the five-match ODI series, India lost the series 2-3. The Aussies made a spirited comeback with the bat as well as the ball. And the main reason behind their amazing comeback is their star opener Usman Khawaja.
The Pakistan-born batsman led the team with two centuries and two fifties in the series. He became the highest run-getter and deservedly won the Man of the Series award. Seeing his performance Pakistan’s Major General Asif Ghafoor praised Khawaja. Gafoor is the director-general of Inter-Services Public Relations.
The things have become more interesting as it came in midst of the tense relations between India and Pakistan. The tense atmosphere has been created by the Pulwama attack. It increased near the border areas when Pakistan shot down an Indian aircraft.
Recently in the third ODI in Ranchi, the Indian team decided to wear camouflaged caps. They did that to honor the martyred soldiers in Pulwama. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) criticized it and asked ICC to take strong action against BCCI.

Ghafoor praises Khawaja in his tweet
Since that match the Aussies won back-to-back three encounters. And Khawaja was the main man behind this comeback. Since that day Ghafoor has been all praise for the Pakistan-born batsman. He came up with three tweets for the three consecutive matches.
Meanwhile in his third tweet, Gafoor highlighted the words ‘STRIKE’ and ‘CAP’. It seems that he did this to troll the Indian team. As a result the Indian fans might protest against it and there can be a war of words.
Meanwhile Australia will next play a five-match ODI series against Pakistan in the UAE. If Khawaja continues his golden form and Australia beat Pakistan, it will be interesting to see how Ghafoor reacts to that situation.
Here are the three tweets:
