AB de Villiers Getting Ready To Play In Big Bash League

Former Proteas captain AB de Villiers has recently expressed to desire to play in the Big Bash League in the 2019-20 season. ABD has played in almost every T20 league since retiring from international cricket in May 2018.

Recently he made his debut in the Bangladesh Premier League and Pakistan Super League. ABD is considered as one of the greats in the history of the game. His career has spanned from the years 2004-2018.

Through this period, ABD has played 114 Tests, 228 ODIs and 78 T20Is. He has scored 8765 Test runs, 9577 ODI runs and 1672 T20I runs. The 35-year-old might now play in the Big Bash League, which is widely considered as the second-best T20 league after IPL.

ABD approaches a number of clubs

The South African superstar’s management has approached a number of BBL clubs and they have reciprocated positively. This is because despite international retirement, ABD is still considered an asset for his wide array of shots and electric fielding.

In the ongoing IPL 2019, ABD has scored four fifties in his last 7 innings. He currently leads RCB’s batting charts with skipper Virat Kohli. ABD along with Chris Gayle are the only two foreigners in IPL with strike rate of 150+ and average of 40+.

Speaking of ABD’s involvement in BBL, Melbourne Stars skipper Glenn Maxwell expressed his joy. In an interview to cricket.com.au, Maxwell said, “De Villiers is someone I’ve really looked up to. He’s true entertainment.”
