Kohli Taunts Ashwin For Mankading; Ashwin Replies

The game between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Kings XI Punjab was full of tempers. The incident involved the skippers of both the teams, Virat Kohli and Ravi Ashwin.

Chasing a total of 203, KXIP needed 27 off the final over. Ashwin started with a six off Umesh Yadav’s delivery. Ashwin attempted yet another six in the next delivery but Kohli took a fine catch at long-on.

After completing the dismissal, Kohli gave a fiery sent-off to his Indian counterpart. Kohli even threw some verbal volleys and even taunted Ashwin for his Mankading incident. Seeing this Ashwin lost his cool and threw his gloves in the dugout in anger.

Ashwin started the taunting

However it was KXIP skipper Ashwin that began the initial duel. When he got rid of RCB’s Moeen Ali, he celebrated in a rather unusual manner. Even when Kohli was dismissed, Ashwin was seen celebrating vocally.

Later when Ashwin was asked after the match about Kohli’s taunting, he didn’t pay any importance to it. He termed it as something that came out in heat of the moment because of extreme passion. “I just played with passion, so does he. That’s it,” Ashwin said.
