Gambhir Names His Four Teams For IPL 2019 Playoffs

The upcoming 2019 World Cup is just few months away. But before that India is gearing up for the Indian Premier League. The mega-event will begin from March 23 where Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) will face against each other.

The match will be played at the MA Chidambaram Stadium. Already the experts are busy predicting the probable winners of the match. Former Indian opener Gautam Gambhir also predicted his four teams who will qualify for the playoffs.

Gambhir was also the skipper of Kolkata Knight Riders and won the IPL title in 2012 and 2014. Gambhir’s prediction will surely upset the cricketing fans. He has not included MS Dhoni’s team and Virat Kohli’s team in his list.

GG almost forgot the name of KKR

In the IPL analysis show hosted by Star Sports, Gauti named four teams who will qualify for playoffs. The recent recipient of Padma Shri Award named “Mumbai Indians, Kings XI Punjab, Sunrisers Hyderabad, KKR.”

In fact Gambhir burst into laughter as he almost forgot to name Kolkata Knight Riders. After Sourav Ganguly, KKR was led by Gauti for many seasons. After leading the team for the final time in 2017, he was replaced by wicketkeeper-batsman Dinesh Karthik.

Gauti then returned to Delhi Daredevils (now Capitals), but dropped himself after a poor show. Youngster Shreyas Iyer took over the reins in the midway of the tournament. The absence of CSK and RCB from Gauti’s list will surely raise many eyebrows.

CSK returned to the IPL last year, after two years of suspension, and lifted the title straight away. It was their third title under Dhoni’s captaincy. On the other hand RCB has no trophies in their cabinet. Moreover they didn’t qualify for the playoffs last year. However because of the presence of some big names, they are a strong contender for the title.
