The leggie finished as the first week’s joint highest wicket-taker. He bowled his heart out and always went for taking wickets. In the first home game at the Chinnaswamy Stadium, he picked a four-wicket haul.
Before that at Chepauk on a turning pitch, he gave just 6 runs and took 1 wicket. However he had a worse end as he conceded 44 runs against SRH and took just 1 wicket. Chahal would definitely need support from the other end if RCB are to perform well.
9. Imran Tahir – Chennai Super Kings

Defending IPL champions didn’t have a good bowling line-up this season. Moreover they were plagued with injuries as Lungi Ngidi and David Willey pulled out of the tournament. However he managed to remain at the top thanks to leg-spinner Imran Tahir.
He bowled extremely well in the first two games and always remained one step ahead of the opposition batsman. He ended the first week as the Purple Cap holder with sex wickets at an average of 8.67. Tahir edged his teammate DJ Bravo for this spot.
