4. Sanju Samson – Rajasthan Royals

This year’s IPL has been great so far for Sanju after he backed himself to bat ahead of Steve Smith at No. 3. He started on an off beat with 30 runs from 25 balls. But in his second game against Sunrisers Hyderabad, he showed his true colours.
The 24-year-old cricketer scored an unbeaten 102 off just 55 balls. With this century he became the first centurion of IPL 2019. His knock had classy cricketing shots and didn’t fancy anything new.
Unfortunately his team lost the game as his opposite number David Warner destoyed Sanju’s day. In the third game against CSK, he faced testing conditions and could score just 8 runs. He should look to become more consistent from now on.
5. Nitish Rana – Kolkata Knight Riders

This cricketer has been a pleasant surprise for KKR. Always known for his talent but he never managed to create an impact. But this week he was extra special. He opened the innings in the first game against SRH and scored a 47-ball 68.
In the second game against KXIP he batted at No. 4 and scored an aggressive 63 off just 34 balls. He failed to score in the third match against DC. He finished the first week with 132 runs in 3 games at an average of 44.
