The controversial ‘Mankading’ saga between Ravi Ashwin and Jos Buttler is still going on. Last Monday during the game between Rajasthan Royals and Kings XI Punjab, Ashwin ‘Mankaded’ non-striker Buttler.

The incident derailed Royals’ run-chase of 185. They were 108 for 1 in the 13th over when Buttler was dismissed on 69. They eventually finished on 170 for 9 and lost the game by 14 runs.

The controversial incident gained a lot of criticisms. While many believed that Ashwin was well within his rights, others believe he violated the Spirit of the Game. Several former cricketers have said that Ashwin could have avoided such kind of dismissal.

Amidst all this England pacer James Anderson has come up with an absolutely shocking gesture. In a recent viral video, he is seen shredding Ashwin’s picture as his reaction for the ‘Mankading’ incident. While many found it funny, others were left angry.

Root voices his opinion

On the other hand, England skipper Joe Root voiced his opinion in a gentlemanly way. He said that it is within the rules and Buttler should take it on the chin. However Root made it clear that he doesn’t want to be involved in such a scenario.

“It’s not something that I’d like to be involved in, I wasn’t too impressed personally,” Root said. “But it’s within the Laws of the game, as a lot of people have said, and one Jos has to take on the chin unfortunately.”
