The 12th edition of the IPL is set to begin on March 23 with match between defending champions CSK and RCB. With the upcoming World Cup, players like Mitchell Starc, Glenn Maxwell and Mustafizur Rahman pulled out of the auction.
They did this for taking preparations before the World Cup. Even the English players will leave before the start of the playoffs. Apart from this before the start of the tournament, the franchises have got enough headaches.
This is because of the injuries to some of the players. The injuries are so gruesome that they are forced to be sidelined for the entire season. Hence they will miss each and every match of IPL 2019.

1. Shivam Mavi (Kolkata Knight Riders)
The withdrawal of a lead pacer before the start of the tournament has become KKR’s destiny. Last year it was Mitchell Starc and this year it is Shivam Mavi. The U19 pacer is known for consistently bowling over 140kph.
Last year Mavi was bought in the auction for Rs 3 crores. However he didn’t have a good season as he could pick only 5 wickets from 9 games and gave runs at above 9 an over. However his raw pace was noticed by everyone.
This year Mavi will be out for four to six months due to a stress fracture in his back. Karnataka leg-spinner KC Cariappa has been announced as Mavi’s replacement. Cariappa began his IPL journey with KKR but later moved to Kings XI Punjab. He was released this year prior to the auction.
