The upcoming IPL is just a couple of days away. It is that part of time when cricketing fraternity gets divided into eight parts. Over all the glamorous seasons of the league, we have witnessed many scenes.
From injuries to chopping of players and even a change in captaincy. Previous season Gautam Gambhir resigned from Delhi Daredevils’ (now Capitals) captaincy. At that time Shreyas Iyer became the new captain.
Ricky Ponting did the same thing with Mumbai Indians back in 2013. Even in their inaugural season, Sunrisers Hyderabad was captained by Kumar Sangakkara and Cameron White.
This year fans might witness similar kind of situation. This is because after the IPL gets over, the 2019 World Cup will begin. For which many players would have to return to their countries to make preparations. Hence the franchises might be forced to find new captain.

Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) – Manish Pandey

SRH’s previous year was good as they topped the group having won 9 out of their 14 games. However they lost the final to Chennai Super Kings (CSK). Before the start of the season their skipper David Warner was banned due to ball-tampering scandal.
New Zealand’s Kane Williamson became the new captain and fulfilled his role both as a skipper and batsman. He led his team from the front and amassed 735 runs to win the Orange Cap.
Recently Williamson suffered a minor shoulder injury. The Kiwi players will stay the full IPL season but Kane might take some games off to manage his workload. This is where SRH might hand the captaincy to Manish Pandey.
The Karnataka-batsman haven’t led an IPL side before. But he was appointed the skipper of Karnataka mid-way through the Vijay Hazare Trophy last year. Under his captaincy Karnataka reached the semi-final of the Ranji season. Pandey can be a good option if SRH needs a new captain.
