2. Ajinkya Rahane
Rahane is a Test-specialist batsman but he can change gears and can bat in the limited overs format too. In the recently concluded tour, he showed glimpses of his old form. With IPL fast approaching, he would be eager to make his performances count.
Rahane provides an awesome balance in the middle order. But his inconsistency in limited overs format has prevented him from becoming a long-term option. His numbers include an average of 35 and a strike rate of 78.
Although his numbers might not help him, but his calmness and composure would definitely help him. One can definitely see how Rahane is lacking much-needed confidence. However with his recent form he will more than happy to make a comeback.
The 30-year-old had a successful season with the IPL franchise Rajasthan Royals previous season. As IPL is often regarded as a platform to judge a player’s form, his performance in the upcoming edition can potentially succeed to give him a World Cup spot.
