5. Rishabh Pant

The youngster became a household name because of his clean striking, powerful hitting and of course his babysitting banter. In the U19 World Cup, Pant scored 24-ball 75 against Nepal. He then followed it with a century against Namibia.

After that he continued his exploits in the IPL and hence got a national call-up. Although Pant has cemented his place in the Test squad, he hasn’t done much in the coloured jersey.

He has scored just 93 runs from 4 innings and haven’t done anything noteworthy to get a push for the World Cup. There is no doubt on his skills and shot-making. However he hasn’t got the temperament in crunch situations. With all maturity and experience, Dinesh Karthik might go ahead of Pant for the World Cup squad.
