Chennai Super Kings has been one of the most successful teams in the history of IPL. So far they have won 3 IPL titles and reached the top four in all the seasons they have played.

When Chennai Super Kings returned to Chepauk for the 12th edition, fans came in large numbers just to see them practice. This shows their popularity among their fans. Moreover they have got more love than any other teams in the IPL.

The core squad of the Chennai Super Kings team is the strongest. They have the best captain in the likes of Mahendra Singh Dhoni. He is ably supported by Ambati Rayudu, Suresh Raina, Ravindra Jadeja and many others.

The Kiwi cricketer made his IPL debut with Chennai Super Kings in 2011. He played in 5 matches and took 4 wickets. However he had a disastrous average of 41.50 and economy of 8.73.

As a result he was released in the next season. After that he was picked by Rajasthan Royals in 2014. However his ineffectiveness on Indian tracks made him fail again. But surprisingly he was retained the following season.

However despite of all that faith he couldn’t find his rhythm. Layer he Southee played for Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bangalore. Still he couldn’t leave a mark. Still he was retained by RCB for the 2019 season. Only time will say how he performs in the upcoming season.
