SRH are dealt with a big blow before their match with CSK at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. They have lost their skipper Kane Williamson. The Kiwi player was forced to return home due to a personal tragedy.

SRH are currently in the middle of the points table. They have so far won five of the nine games they played. The Orange Army has the momentum on their side as they won the last two matches.

On the other hand CSK are coming from a close loss at the hands of RCB. In the previous meeting, SRH had the upper hand at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad. They will be keen to do the double over their opponents.

Williamson didn’t do much thus far

As per the reports from Sportstar, Williamson will join the team for the match against RR on April 27. In his absence, pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar will lead the side. Previously Bhuvi did the job when Kane couldn’t play some matches as he came into the tournament with a back injury.

The 28-year-old Kiwi captain didn’t have to do much. He scored only 28 runs from 4 matches at an average of 9.33 and strike rate of 87.50. This has been mainly because of the opening pair of David Warner and Jonny Bairstow.

Both of them have partnered four century partnerships so far in IPL 2019. Because of their star performance, the men batting down the order had easy jobs.

Once Warner and Bairstow leaves for World Cup preparations, Williamson will have to shepherd the team. The experienced cricketer was his team’s and tournament’s highest scorer in IPL 2018.
