Highly talented pacer from Pakistan, Mohammad Amir, is highly crafted and a smart cricketer. The left-arm pacer has the ability to swing the ball both ways. Along with that he has very accurate lines and length.

As a result all of these makes him a very dangerous bowler to face. However currently Amir is not at his best and is struggling to pick wickets. He is not that same destructive anymore at the present.

Opposition batsmen don’t consider him a threat any more and can play him easily. In the last 14 games, the 27-year-old pacer has taken just 5 wickets and his average is close to 93. As a result the selectors of Pakistan Cricket Board decided to drop him from the upcoming World Cup squad.

Amir still fancies to make to the WC squad

Amir played an instrumental role in Pakistan’s 2017 Champions Trophy win. With a player of his abilities, Amir can be very dangerous in English conditions. Although he is left out, he has still got a chance to make it to the squad.

Amir is currently named in the 17-member squad which will play against England in early May. PCB has only submitted a provisional World Cup squad. They can make changes to the list without taking ICC’s permission until May 23.

If Amir performs well against England, the selectors might change their mind and rope him in the squad. Even the pacer is remaining optimistic about his chances as he knows that he has to perform well against England.

Amir took to Twitter and posted a positive note. He wrote, “Greatfull for being picked to play against england going to give my 100% InshAllah and good luck to the team for WC19 may the WC trophy comes home InshAllah.. lets support our team…”
