Axar Patel (Wrongly Retained)

The most successful year of Axar was in 2014 with Kings XI Punjab. He took 17 wickets in 17 games at an average of 23.82 and helped KXIP to reach the finals. Since then the 25-year-old off-spinner bowling all-rounder couldn’t create much impact.
In the two seasons with DC, Axar has taken 3 and 10 wickets with average of 72.67 and 36.40 respectively. With the bat he averaged 13.33 and 18.33. Already the team has spinners like Sandeep Lamichhane, Ravi Ashwin, and Amit Mishra. Thus Axar will add no value and is hence wrongly retained.
Chris Morris (Wrongly Released)

The South African bowling all-rounder is one of the surprise released players. In limited opportunities, Morris had delivered a lot. He formed a lethal pace attack along with Kagiso Rabada and Ishant Sharma.
In the previous season, he took 13 wickets from 9 games. He has the ability to bowl yorkers in the death and was captain Shreyas Iyer’s go-to man. Even with the bat the 32-year-old was capable of churning out quick runs whenever needed.
