Former Indian opener Virender Sehwag has picked Ben Stokes over Virat Kohli for topping the chart of the highest paid player in VIVO IPL 2018.
Virendra Sehwag, who is currently the director of Kings XI Punjab predict that Ben Stokes will be the highest bided player in the upcoming VIVO IPL 2018 auction.
Earlier this month the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) has retained their captain superstar Virat Kohli and which have cost RCB 17 crores. Total of 578 players will be under the hammer in the coming auction starting from 27th of January, with some big names who can fetch higher amount in compare.
“Virat Kohli is definitely the most expensive player in the IPL but if there is someone who can beat him it has to be Ben Stokes,” Sehwag told as per the latest VIVO IPL 2018 news.
Sehwag also spoke about the use of the Right-To-Match card in the auction “They are a lot of players but for example, if RCB wants to retain (Yazuvendra) Chahal and KL Rahul, they only have one RTM card to use, so we will make sure that we push their prices to Rs 10 or 12 crores so they have to think before buying them,”
Virender Sehwag is backing the odds as he wants new winner in the VIVO IPL 2018 unlike the previous years. Sehwag has put money for teams like Royal Challengers Bangalore, Kings XI Punjab and Delhi Daredevils to life the VIVO IPL 2018 trophy.
“I want a new team to win the IPL this season, someone who hasn’t won it before,” said Sehwag. “If one of the three teams RCB, Kings XI Punjab or Delhi, wins than a healthy competition would be ensured and people will enjoy,” he concluded.
