Three stalwarts who went unsold in the IPL auction

3)Steve Smith:

Former Aussie skipper Steve Smith, who is one of the best batsmen in the world right now in all the three formats, gone unsold in the IPL auction of 2012.

Though later on, he managed to sneak into the competition in replacement of his compatriot Mitchell Marsh in Pune Warriors India, it was his debut season in the Indian premier league and it was not that good for him but in his time at Rising Pune Supergiants he captained them to the final of the event in 2017 season where they lost the mega final by just 1 run.

In that year he was the best batsman for his team, with 472 runs on his name in just 15 Innings.

Right now he is the skipper of Rajashtan Royals, and in his IPL career, he has more than 2000 runs to his name and one century which he scored against Gujrat Lions in 2016.
