In the recent BCCI Apex meeting, the United Aram Emirates came as a top contenders to host the Indian team’s training camp along with Ahmedabad and Dharamsala.
Right now the covid cases are rising in a galloping speed and because of this reason UAE is favourite to host the next season’s Indian Premier League campaign between the end of September to November.
The Indian cricket team members who did not played since the month of March could practice and train themselves in Dubai, as its looks like the Dubai is leading the race to host the Indian Premier League.
On this Friday over a virtual call meeting the issue of hosting Indian premier League in India discussed but the final call would be taken by the IPL governing council.
One BCCI official expressed:
“If the IPL is held in the UAE, then it only makes sense the Indian cricketers train there before the tournament. They have a good infrastructure in place. UAE is the most likely choice for the IPL with India getting increasingly unsafe (due to COVID-19),”
The other official added:
“The other likely options are training camp in either Dharamsala or Ahmedabad (at the renovated Motera stadium) with a bio-bubble in place. But the cases continue to increase in India, so UAE will be the safest option,”
