After the latest call of suspected action in the Pakistan Super League last month, Sunil Narine has been bowling with a remodelled action and has achieved a record in Monday’s match.

VIVO IPL 2018: Narine becomes the first foreign spinner to take 100 wickets in IPL

In Monday’s Indian Premier League match at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata, Narine achieved the feat in style by cleaning up Delhi Daredevils’ Chris Morris for just 2.

A ball later he trapped Vijay Shankar on the same score. Later he came back to pick up the wicket of Mohammed Shami to make it his third wicket for the day.

He finished his spell conceding just 18 runs in his three overs. The three wickets in the match took his tally of IPL wickets to 102.

Narine and his spin partner Kuldeep Yadav shared six wickets among themselves as they helped their team beat the Daredevils by 71 runs.

Narine loves to bowl against Daredevils as he has got 23 wickets from 12 innings, which is his second best against all other IPL teams, the best being his 26 wickets against Kings XI Punjab.

Narine has got his 102 wickets by conceding 2113 runs from 86 appearances. His best bowling figure is 5/19 which he had achieved in his first IPL season way back in 2012.

When asked about his bowling in Monday’s match, Narine said, “I don’t think I’m upto 100% (with the bowling) but I’m keeping it simple. It felt a little weird knowing Gambhir was on the opposite side. But that’s the way cricket works. I think I’m slightly different to an ordinary spinner but I think it’s based on accuracy. Try to do new things and hopefully it works in the game.”
