The Indian team went through the yo-yo test to show their fitness levels on Friday ahead of their tour to the United Kingdom.

Cricket news: Skipper Virat Kohli and MS Dhoni are cleared in the yo-yo test

The Indian team is scheduled to play two T20I games against Ireland before they face England and play all the three formats of the game against them.

However one key member of the team, who was staged to make a comeback, failed to clear the yo-yo fitness test and is now dropped from the side, which gives a shocking jolt for the Men in Blue.

Siddarth Kaul has confirmed his passing in the yo-yo test with an update on his Twitter handle earlier in the day, and also expressed his excitement for the upcoming tour. Suresh Raina and Jasprit Bumrah has also cleared the fitness test.

It was Ambati Rayudu who had failed to clear the prescribed 16.1 mark in the fitness level. According to reports from Sportskeeda, Rayudu had a score in the range of 14 and was later dropped from the squad.

Both Kohli and Dhoni has cleared the fitness tests. Rayudu was given the opportunity in the ODI squad for the England tour due to his excellent form in the Indian Premier League.

He was thought to be the number 4 for India and was thought to play an important role in the 2019 World Cup, but will now have to wait for other chances.

He will firstly have to improve his fitness before breaking into the national side. Although the selectors have not yet named a replacement, but presently Ajinkya Rahane is the best option.
