Since the inaugural season of the Indian Premier League, franchise Chennai Super Kings has seen lot of success. One of the major reason behind their three titles has been the presence of enigmatic MS Dhoni.

MSD’s love for the game hasn’t died even at the age of 37. However age is quickly catching up to him and this has become evident this season. He has missed a couple of games in the ongoing IPL 2019.

In the first time he didn’t play due to back spasm and the second time he was sick. In his absence, Suresh Raina has captained the side. Raina has been with the team since 2008. However to his disappointment, CSK lost both the games against SRH and MI.

In the previous game against DC, Dhoni came back and played a handy knock of 44* from 22 balls. Moreover he affected two stumpings of Shreyas Iyer and Chris Morris. As a result of his efforts, DC were bowled out for 99 and CSK won the game by 80 runs.

Dhoni will continue as long as he wants

After Dhoni’s excellent efforts, Raina lauded him and revealed MSD’s relation with CSK. Moreover he also hinted that he might become CSK’s captain from the next season. But he also said that Dhoni will stay in CSK until the time he wishes.

“He has done well in the last couple of years as a batsman as well team mentor. So probably you may see me more next year when he is done but I need more of his calibre. But he will continue as long as he wants to play for Chennai, you know him and Chennai,” Raina was quoted as saying in the post-match press conference.

After the victory against DC, the Men in Yellow have 9 wins from 13 games. They will play their last league game against KXIP on 5 May at the PCA Stadium in Mohali.
