Proteas Superstar Discusses About India-England Test

The England-India Test series is creating a lot of buzz as the date of the first Test is coming near, which will be played from August 1 at Edgbaston.

Cricket news: He also praised Virat Kohli and Co. for their tour of South Africa

While the Men in Blue is currently the top team in the ICC Test Rankings, but their record in England hasn’t been great in the previous tours, which they would be hoping to change.

This would be Virat Kohli’s second big assignment abroad after their tour to South Africa was conducted earlier this year.

While Captain Kohli was phenomenal against the Proteas, however he would love to make amends for his performance against the Brits in the 2014 series.

Proteas pacer Dale Steyn recently visited Mumbai for a promotional event, where he was asked to predict the outcome of the England-India Test series.

Steyn had made a comeback to the Proteas squad recently and he feels that the hosts are clearly the favourites because of the bowling conditions and their better pace department.

“I don’t like any predictions. The advantage probably lies with England, obviously being at home and with such a long tour. They have been there for ODIs and are a very good touring team now. If I put my money, I will probably put on England. But it’s going to be a hard-fought Test series. The English bowlers are a little bit more skilled and that will be the tipping point,” said Steyn.

Although India had lost the Test series against South Africa earlier this year, yet they had put up a terrific fight, which had surprised Steyn as he said that India is capable of winning everywhere.

“Led by Virat Kohli, this Indian team is capable of anything. I know Virat pretty well; he’s quite a determined character. Five Test matches are going to be good for one team and if one team gets on a roll, the other team will be blown away,” concluded Steyn.
