Prithvi Shaw Promises Sachin Tendulkar That He Would Not Let Him Down

India’s current young sensation Prithvi Shaw has promised that he would not let down his idol, the legendary Indian batsman Sachin Tendulkar.

Cricket news: Prithvi scored a wonderful 134 in his debut Test against West Indies

Prithvi Shaw was handed his debut Test cap by skipper Virat Kohli on Thursday against West Indies. He opened the innings with fellow opener KL Rahul but lost him in the very first over.

However Shaw carried on at a brisk rate and soon got his half-century. When he headed for the dressing room during the lunch break, he was just 20 odd runs away from the dream century.

He did not take long and scored the remainder of the runs to kick start his beautiful international career and was clearly elated having achieved the feat, as the 18-year-old lad became the second youngest Indian to score a century on a Test debut.

His performances obviously demanded a lot of celebrations in the dressing room, but before that he came on camera to thank his idol Sachin Tendulkar for his praises.

Shaw has often been compared to the legendary cricketer for his fearless cricket and the amount of records he has achieved as a young player.

Soon after Prithvi got to his maiden century, Sachin congratulated him on Twitter saying, “Lovely to see such an attacking knock in your first innings, @prithvishaw! Continue batting fearlessly. #INDvWI”

Ecstatic to see the Little Master’s praises, Prithvi took to camera to thank him saying, “Thank you so much Sachin sir, it means a lot to me and all those tips you have given to me when I was young, I am making sure that I won’t let you down.”
