One Player Each IPL Team Can Release In 2019

Yuvraj Singh (Kings XI Punjab)

Once an expensive player in the tournament’s history, Yuvraj returned to his home franchise Kings XI Punjab as he was drafted in for his base price of INR 2 crores.

However he found himself in and out of the squad because of his poor and inconsistent form. From the 8 matches he played, he scored only 65 runs at a forgettable average of 10.83.

With the ball he managed to sneak in just a couple of overs in which he leaked 23 runs and could not find any success. With age not on his side added with his inconsistency, the once most valuable player might find the axe this season.

Mitchell Starc (Kolkata Knight Riders)

There is no doubt with the prowess of his bowling but his injury-frequent nature have dented a huge blow to his career.

The 28-year-old bowler played a couple of seasons for Royal Challengers Bangalore and when he was released, Kolkata Knight Riders bought him for a whooping INR 9.4 crores.

However he developed a tibial bone stress fracture and was forced not to take part in the tournament. He made his comeback against Pakistan in the recently concluded two-Test match series in UAE.

But he again injured his hamstring during the second encounter. Because of his injury-prone nature, KKR might leave him this season and look for someone who can play the entire tournament.
