
After demolishing Australia, Virat Kohli’s Men are now ready to take on the Kangaroos’ neighbour New Zealand. They will play a five-match ODI series starting January 23 followed by three T20Is. The Kiwis could prove to be a more competitive rival than the defending world champions. They are ranked just behind India in the ICC ODI table.
India have defeated the Kiwis only once in the ODIs in the 2008-09 season. The last two ODI series played between the two teams were India. And the hosts were the winners under their Captain Daredevil , Kohli. The daredevil Captain will like to do the same but this time in their turf.

Bumrah , India’s Key Player
Indian pacer Jasprit Bumrah, who had a Mind blowing Test series against Australia and also ended up among the top five bowlers in Tests in his debut year (2018).He was expected to play against the kiwis but rested due to the World Cup . Former Kiwi pacer Danny Morrison said the pacer will be India’s Key player in the ICC World Cup held in England and Wales on May 30. He being the wild card for India was sidelined and rested for the ODI’s against Australia.
Bumrah a product of Indian Premier League
“Bumrah is a classic product of IPL and white-ball cricket development of new breed of India talent,” Morrison, who is doing commentary for the ongoing Bangladesh Premier League, told Sportstar on Sunday.
“It is fabulous to see the ‘unusual’/unorthodox bowling actions still cutting it at the highest levels of the game, unearthing unique talents from the subcontinent,” Morrison, one of the most prominent pacers New Zealand produced after the legendary Richard Hadlee, added.
Morrison, who was part of the New Zealand dream team squad that had a dream run in the 1992 World Cup under Martin Crowe . He was also a bit unsure about his own country in the upcoming tournament. New Zealand hit the all time best record by reaching the final of the 2015 edition but lost to rivals Australia.
