Kohli Sends Off Root Mocking His Mic Drop Celebration

India’s angry young man skipper Virat Kohli does not forget things so easily and if you give him one, he will gift wrap it and will return it to you in bundles.

Cricket news: Root was run-out on 80 following a brilliant direct hit from Kohli

In the ODI series decider game, England’s Joe Root scored a century and took the match as well as the series from the hands of the Indians.

He hit the winning runs with a boundary and also brought up the three-mark figure score with the same boundary. Having accomplished his task, he performed the mic drop celebration by dropping the bat, copying the epic mic drop speech of former US President Barrack Obama.

In the Test series, Root is the captain of the England team and in the first Test at Edgbaston, he won the toss and decided to bat first on a wicket which looked good.

India’s lone spinner Ravichandran Ashwin provided the early breakthrough by cleaning the stumps of former England captain Alastair Cook in the first session.

With the departure of Cook, the England skipper came to the middle to provide solidarity to the innings and achieve a big score.

He took his time to settle down and then started playing his shots and runs were coming quite easily. He made some good partnerships with Keaton Jennings and Jonny Bairstow and reached to his half-century in the second session.

He was batting on 80 and there were discussions of his poor conversion rate of fifties to hundreds were starting to roar, he got himself run out.

Bairstow hit a delivery from Ashwin to midwicket which was being chased by the Indian skipper Kohli. While the batsmen decided to take a couple, Kohli collected the ball and threw it to the non-striker’s end in swift motion.

The ball travelled in a perfect trajectory as Ashwin was ready to collect and dislodge the stumps. Root knew he was struggling and if Ashwin had picked the ball and disturbed the stumps, he would still have been quite short of his ground.

However it didn’t need Ashwin’s assistance as the ball hit directly as Root was well short of his ground. The England skipper picked himself up and started hi walk back to the pavilion while the Indian skipper started celebrating knowing he has got his man.

He blew a couple of flying kisses and mocked the mic drop celebration of Root and then silenced the crowd with his finger on the lips. He then pumped up and one could easily guess by reading his lips what he said next: “Mic drop… F**k off”
