The Indian skipper Virat Kohli is undoubtedly the best batsman in the world when it comes to longest format of the game. But when it comes to the shorter version, he gets a tough competition from his fellow teammate Rohit Sharma.

In ODI cricket, there has always been an invisible tussle between Kohli and Rohit. While Kohli is top ranked in the ICC ODI rankings, Rohit follows him closely in the second position.

Former Indian veteran spinner Harbhajan Singh was asked to choose who is the best. Bhajji got confused and found it extremely tough to separate them from one another at the moment.

Kohli has so far played 222 ODIs and has scored 10,533 runs. From these games he has scored 39 massive centuries. Once King Kohli crosses the 50-run mark, it seldom happens that he doesn’t score a century.

On the other hand Rohit’s career took a bright turn after he was promoted as an opener during the 2013 Champions Trophy. Since then the vice-captain of India has been phenomenal with the bat and has scored massive runs.

Rohit has played 201 ODIs so far and has scored 7,808 runs at an average of 47.61. He has also hit 22 centuries among which there are three double tons. He is a gifted cricketer and his ability to clear the boundary with ease makes him extra special.

Bhajji answers the tricky question

During an interview with India Today, Bhajji was asked to pick the best batsman between Kohli and Rohit. At first he seemed confused with the tricky question. Later he clearly denied to pick a specific player. Rather he focused on how both of them took Indian cricket forward.

“That’s a tricky question. Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli are tremendous players and both are match-winners. Both are class players and their records speak for themselves. Rohit Sharma is supremely talented while Virat Kohli is a hard-working cricketer.

“Maybe, Kohli is not as talented at Rohit but his hard work and passion have taken him to where he is right now. So, it’s tough for me to pick who’s a better batsman. I will not be able to answer this question. But both play for India, that’s what matters,” Bhajji said.
