Former Indian opener Virender Sehwag is a big fan of MS Dhoni and backs him to bat higher up the order, probably at No.4.
Virender Sehwag believes there still more can be done in the India’s middle-order, and thinks it’s high time Virat Kohli should free Dhoni from the finishers role and promote him up the order.
"I believe, there's still a scope of improvement in India's middle-order batting line-up. MS Dhoni should play up the order," Sehwag told India TV.
"I think, Kohli fears that if Dhoni comes at No 4 and loses his wicket early then there won't be anyone on the finishing spot. But Kohli should send him up the order and hand the finisher's role to Manish Pandey or Hardik Pandya or Kedar Jadhav," he added.
Former Indian captain MS Dhoni has been under criticism because of his recent inconsistent batting performance. The 36-year-old was one of the greatest finishers of the game over the last decade; but his power hitting abilities have now deserted.
