A great leader is that person who can motivate his followers in the direst of situations. He is that person who will always back his followers no matter the circumstances.
VIVO IPL 2018: Dhoni believes in team success, not individual failure: Jadeja
The former Indian captain, Mahendra Singh Dhoni, is such leader who has always kept his team motivated and has carried them over the line with his batting as well as his oratory skills.
But what does the two-time world cup winning captain say during the team meeting which lifts the team’s spirits. Dhoni’s CSK compatriot Ravindra Jadeja finally sheds some light on it.
In an interview to iplt20.com, Jadeja said that Dhoni doesn’t believe in invidual failure. He never pinpoints to a certain player and say that he is responsible for the team’s defeat.
Rather Dhoni has always believed in collective responsibilities and actions and has always focussed on the entire team’s performance whether it is a victory or a defeat.
Jadeja said, “Whether we win or lose, our motive is always to not blame anyone in particular for that. Whatever the result, it’s because of the team’s effort. That’s our mantra. It is something that binds the team together.”
He further added saying, “Mahi bhai (MS Dhoni) always says, ‘we win together, we lose together.’ It’s amazing when your leader has faith in you and gives you the confidence that win or lose, we stick together.”
The talks in the CSK dressing room are going pretty well as the team is currently on the second spot the current season of IPL with 14 points, having won seven of their 10 games.
CSK skipper Dhoni has also been in great form as he has scored 360 runs till now at an average of 90, which includes three half-centuries.
CSK are currently on a short break from the tournament and will face Rajasthan Royals at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur on May 11.
