Indian test team wicketkeeper Wriddhiman Saha ruled out from the series against the Proteas,
The 33-year-old wicket-keeper batsman got suffered upper left hamstring tendon injury in the training session the day before the second test, in place of him Parthiv Patel was included in the team for the second match which is ongoing at Super Park.
In this test match, Parthiv did not live the expectation for Team India, Parthiv has dropped three catches in the test, first he muddled the first catch of AB De Villiers, after that he dropped the catch of Faf Du Plessis and recently he didn’t go for the catch of Dean Elgar and he put the blame to Cheteshwar Pujara not to take the chance for it who was standing at the first slip.
Also, he didn’t do well with his bat; he only scored 19 in the first innings.
BCCI has announced that the Bengal boy is injured and to replace him Dinesh Karthik will fly down to South Africa, he will join the team before the third test, and he could get drafted into the starting Xi after Parthiv Patel’s poor performance in the second test.
The Statement BCCI stated: “The All-India Senior Selection Committee has named Dinesh Karthik as the replacement for Wriddhiman Saha for the third and final Test against South Africa. He is set to join the team before the third Test. Mr. Wriddhiman Saha suffered an upper left hamstring tendon injury during training on Thursday, January 11. The BCCI Medical Team will continue to monitor his progress.”
In his Career, Dinesh Karthik has represented Indian in 23 test matches and scored 1000 runs with a average of 27.77,
He played his last test match for team India against Bangladesh back in 2010 in Chittagong.
