With an average of 58.21, he is currently at the top of the ICC ODI rankings and is 42 points clear of the second placed batsman. However there are few batsmen who can topple him from the helm in the near future.

From time to time again, the batsman from Mumbai have proved his mettle of performing in the white-ball format. Recently he eclipsed the 7000 runs mark in ODI cricket and is the ninth Indian batsman to do this.
