DALE STEYN CEASED THE NO.1 POSITION IN TEST BOWLING

Dale Steyn became the No.1 bowler in Test format as per ICC rankings

Dale Steyn is back in his ultimate position where fans think he should be. He is back in the first position of International Cricket Council’s (ICC) top bowler’s list. He recaptured the spot after his stunning performance against New Zealand in the second Test match in Centurion where he picked up 8 wickets against 99 runs.  The Council announced it on Wednesday (August 31).

Steyn surpassed James Anderson and Ravichandran Ashwin to reach the position after South Africa won against New Zealand by 204 runs. He is currently holding the record to be in the first place for most  number of weeks, a total of 263 weeks after Sri Lankan legend Muttiah Muralitharan who was in the same spot for 214 weeks.

The list of the batsmen squad saw no change as Steve Smith still on top and he is being followed by Joe Root, Kane Williamson, Hashim Amla and Younis Khan.
