The Proteas would play another test series on their home soil against Australia, they will play their first test match against the Aussies on 1st March at Durban and the fourth and the last on March 30th.
During the preparation before the Australia test series the South African team envisage with some surprising and disappointing views, the current South African pacer Morne Morkel announced that this Australia series would be his last International appearances for South Africa.
Morne Morkel has represented South Africa in 88 test matches and in 17 ODI matches where he scalped 294 and 18 wickets for them, after the ageless injuries of Dale stain, made Morne Morkel the font bowler for South Africa. But he feels this is the right time in life to take this huge decision and start a new chapter in his life with his family and with his wife.
Morne Morkel voiced: “It was an extremely tough decision but I feel the time is right to start a new chapter. I have a young family and a foreign wife, and the current demanding international schedule has put a lot of strain on us. I have to put them first and this decision will only benefit us going forward,”
The fast bowler also expresses that he would always remember all the happiness that he has experienced with his national team, he also thanks his international teammates and the South African cricket for rendering their support towards him in his cricketing career. He also says that it is a great honor for him to represent South African in each and every format of the game.
He added: “I have loved every minute that I have played in the Proteas jersey, and I am incredibly grateful to my team-mates, Cricket South Africa, and my family and friends for the support over the years,”
