Robin Uthappa who is currently playing for the Kolkata Knight Riders and is smashing runs through the bat to every performance he goes through, and he definitely has got some point to prove the way he is playing around
As of now he is batting in the 3 no. as he has been demoted by the team after opening the match for 6-7 innings as it goes through, Gambhir and Narine is opening the innings and they are really contributing their best to make their team win and go through the barriers of runs very easily
But the 3rd spot seems to be very fruitful for the team and for him personally as well and this man has got wings in his performance and he is giving the best that he is able to deliver
And it is not the end of dreams for the gun, he need to fire it up and make a sensible comeback in the Indian team but the player is very much determined regarding his performance and he will surely make a comeback
On batting one-down, Uthappa conceded that he could miss out on the chance to take advantage of the fielding restrictions but at the same time, the 30-year-old backed himself to eventually come out on top. “As a batsman, you lose out on the advantage of batting in the first six overs,” he admitted. “I have immense faith in my batting; I know I don’t need that kind of advantage to score the runs that I need to score for the team. I back myself and I am really confident and sure about my batting.”
The right-handed batsman also had a busy day behind the stumps as he effected three stumpings during Supergiant’s innings. While the first one was off Narine’s bowling, the other two came in the same over bowled by Kuldeep Yadav towards the end of the innings. Even though Uthappa pointed out Piyush Chawla as the toughest bowler to keep wickets to, due to his variations in googlies, he mentioned that keeping wickets to Kuldeep in nets for a longer duration helped him understand the youngster.
“Obviously, you keep to him as often as you can in the nets and that helps in understanding what he is bowling and when he is bowling it,” he said.
“Also, during the course of the game you understand what the batsman is doing and what the bowler is probably going to bowl. So, there is a sense of anticipation as well. It worked today for me and I am very happy.”
