Broad Takes A Hilarious Dig On Chahal’s Comments

On Thursday, a high-scoring match happened between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Mumbai Indians. In that game MI’s Yuvraj Singh hit RCB’s Yuzvendra Chahal for three consecutive sixes.

Yuvi started the game slowly, scoring 5 runs off 8 balls. But when Chahal came to bowl in the 14th over, Yuvi decided to go for the kill. He struck three consecutive sixes which reminded everyone of how Yuvi hit six sixes of Stuart Broad’s over in 2007 T20 World Cup.

The first six went over mid-wicket, the second one straight down the ground and the third towards long on. However Chahal came back and won the duel eventually. On the fourth delivery, Yuvi attempted to go for another maximum but was caught by Mohammed Siraj at long off.

Nevertheless the knock of 23 runs off 12 balls was crucial as MI defeated RCB by 6 runs. MI batted first and put up 187 for 8, thanks to some power-hitting by Rohit Sharma and Hardik Pandya. RCB was on the track before Lasith Malinga and Jasprit bumrah derailed the chase.

Chahal-Broad funny banter

Malinga defended 17 runs off the last over to give MI their first win in this year’s IPL. On the other hand RCB started their season with two consecutive loss. After the match, Yuzi shared his experience on being hit for three sixes.

“When he (Yuvraj) hit three sixes, I felt like Stuart Broad. You know he is a legend batsman and I backed myself. I had to bowl a bit up, might be a chance to get him out because it is a smaller ground. So that time, I thought of bowling my best delivery and he got sixes. That you cannot help and hence I bowled a wider googly,” said Yuzvendra Chahal.

However the English pacer came up with a funny reply to Chahal’s comments. In IPL’s official Instagram page where the video was posted, Broad pointed out his stupendous Test record with the ball. In the comments section, Broad wrote, “Hope he feels like me in 10 years time after 437 Test wickets.”
