Mavi had been excellent with the ball in India’s under-19 World Cup winning campaign this year which was led by Prithvi Shaw.
He was later purchased by the IPL franchise Kolkata Knight Riders in the 2018 auctions for the 11th edition of the Indian Premier League for a whooping fee of 3 crore.
He has played in seven matches so far and has led the pace bowling with his three wickets. Seeing his brilliant performance, former Australian pacer Brett Lee has praised the rookie bowler and has said that Mavi will surely become the future of Indian bowling.

“I think Mavi has got everything. His actions are beautiful and he packs himself as a fully furnished bowler. With youngsters like Mavi, it’s extremely important to play with confidence, enjoying the spirit of the game,” said Lee in a statement released by the media.
Lee also added later saying, “He knows what he is doing and it looks like he really enjoys his cricket. I think Mavi for me is the future for Indian bowlers.”
KKR are currently in the third position of the league table and are going to face the defending champions Mumbai Indians at the Wankhede Stadium in a match on Sunday.
