The World Cup of 2019 is just months away and the fans are eagerly waiting for the mega tournament. Till now the final 15-member squad for the teams haven’t been yet decided. It would also be exciting to see who get the final cut.

This time the tournament’s format will be different. All the teams have to face each other for at least once. As a result the journey to the knockout stages becomes even more stiffer.

India will begin their World Cup journey against South Africa on 5 June. Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan will open the innings. Skipper Virat Kohli will come at No. 3 while Ambati Rayudu will come at No. 4.

The idea of changing Kohli’s position to No. 4 can prove devastating and deadly. Both Kohli and Rayudu can also play the role of a backup opener.

It is very important to not waste a crucial spot in the squad. As a result the idea of having an extra backup opener is totally wrong. He might be useless and warm the bench throughout the tournament. As a result a floating batsman is a better choice.

Former skipper MS Dhoni is undoubtedly the best behind the stumps. His form with the bat in 2019 is appreciable. Dinesh Karthik should be backup instead of Rishabh Pant.

This is because Karthik will bring a lot of experience with him to the squad. Moreover his ability to finish matches is not unknown. In addition to that he can act as a floating batsman.

Kedar Jadhav and Hardik Pandya should be the primary all-rounders. Ravindra Jadeja should be considered as a backup option. Jadeja is an excellent fielder, bowler and a handy batsman down the order. Moreover he has good experience of playing in English conditions.
