The much-awaited India tour for the Aussies is just around the corner. On Thursday the Men in Yellow have announced their 15-man squad for the two T20Is and five ODIs series.

The two important absentees of the tour are pacer Mitchell Starc and all-rounder Mitchell Marsh. Starc had sustained a pectoral injury on the final day of the second Test against Sri Lanka. On the other hand, Marsh was in a poor form. As a result he paid the price and was not selected.

Overall there are three players absent from the team that played against India last month. India won that historic ODI series 2-1 on Australian soil. Apart from Marsh, veteran Peter Siddle and pacer Billy Stanlake were also left out of the India tour.

Siddle was a surprise inclusion in the previous month’s series. He played three games and took just two wickets. Moreover he conceded runs at nearly seven per over. Stanlake played just one game and gone wicketless for 49 runs.

Kane Richardson, who is the current leading wicket-taker in the ongoing BBL, is called to the squad. In addition to him, pacer Nathan Coulter-Nile and batsman Ashton Turner is also included.

D’Arcy Short, the current leading run-scorer in the ongoing BBL, is also in the squad. But he is kept as a cover for Shaun Marsh. Shaun is nursing an injury and is waiting for the birth of his second child. As a result he is expected to join the team before the third ODI.
