Kolkata Knight Riders will face Sunrisers Hyderabad for their last league match and should win the game to have a better opportunity to feature in the playoffs.
Cricket news: KKR should consider SRH game as the final, says coach Kallis
Kolkata Knight Riders coach Jacques Kallis said that his team should put on the best show for the match on Saturday to make it to the playoffs.
In a pre-match conference on Friday, Kallis said, “Yes, it’s a must-win game and the team needs to put up a competitive performance to make it to the playoffs.”
Kolkata Knight Riders are currently at the third place on the league table with 14 points while Sunrisers Hyderabad have qualified for the playoffs, and currently leading the table with 18 points.
SRH will look to consolidate their position on the top with the win and would also love to get back to winning momentum before the knockout stage. For KKR, if they get defeated they would have to hope the remaining matches’ results to go their way.
Coach Kallis is hopeful that his team can beat the toppers and qualify for the playoffs. “They (Sunrisers Hyderabad) have played some good cricket. They are obviously coming off a loss but they have already qualified. We will have to play some good cricket to beat them,” he said.
