5. Ricky Ponting – Delhi Capitals

DC made massive improvement during the 2019 IPL where they won 9 out of their 14 games. Along with that they won the Eliminator match against Sunrisers Hyderabad. But they fell short against Chennai Super Kings and finished 3rd in the tournament.
Before the beginning of 2019 season, Ricky Ponting was appointed the head coach. As there was good improvement, Ponting is kept for the 2020 season as well. Moreover Ponting was the mentor of Australia in the 2019 World Cup. However DC will not have the services of team’s ex-advisor and current BCCI Chief Sourav Ganguly.
6. Trevor Bayliss – Sunrisers Hyderabad
England won their maiden World Cup in 2019 under the guidance of Trevor Bayliss. This inspired SRH to appoint Bayliss to replace Tom Moody who was coaching SRH from 2013. SRH had previously won the 2016 IPL under the coaching of Moody.
In the previous season SRH finished 4th with 6 wins from 14 games. SRH will not have the services of Bangladesh all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan. Moreover they didn’t use the trade window properly. Now they will hope Bayliss makes use of the auction and inspires them to another trophy.
