5. Fastest half-century in Youth Test cricket

In 2013 against Australia, Kohli made the fastest ODI ton by an Indian. But before that in 2007, he made the record of fastest half-century in Youth Test history. He did that in only 32 balls against Sri Lanka in Kandy.

Kohli made an unbeaten 76-run partnership with Saurabh Tiwary (36* off 11 balls) in just 4.4 overs. This pacey innings helped India reach 491/3 in 83 overs. Kohli remained not out on 94 in 51 balls when skipper Tanmay Srivastava declared.

Had the declaration not come, Kohli would have got the record of fastest Test century in Youth cricket. Moeen Ali of England have this record as he made it in 56 balls against Sri Lanka in 2005. In 2017, Riyan Parag came close to Kohli’s record as he made a 33-ball fifty against England.
