5 Indian Players Who Gets Lots of Support from Skipper Virat Kohli

4. Yuzvendra Chahal

The leg spinner is Kohli’s teammate from IPL franchise Royal Challengers Bangalore and enjoys great support from the skipper. He has also responded brilliantly with his consistency as he replaced the likes of spin veterans Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja.

At present he has played 36 out of his 57 international games under Kohli and is clearly in the plans for the 2019 World Cup. Although he has delivered in the past couple of years, yet there were times when he went through rough patches.

In 2017, he picked just 7 wickets in six matches (ODIs and T20Is) each against Australia and New Zealand. But he later repaid Virat’s faith by picking 17 wickets in eight games in the South Africa tour of 2018.

However in the last England tour, he failed again as he managed only one wicket in three T20Is and two wickets in three ODIs. Despite these occasional failures, Kohli has never unsettled him with the fear of losing his place from the side, which proves the skipper’s faith in the leggie.
