During the 2013 IPL, reports came out that IPL team Chennai Super Kings is involved in match-fixing. During that time Dhoni was the skipper of CSK. So his involvement in the match-fixing matter was also considered.
SP Kumar was handed the responsibility of the investigation. He found that a bookie named Kitty confessed that Gurunath Meiyappan told him that Dhoni is involved. Meiyappan said Kitty that Dhoni has agreed to score 140 and then lose the game.
Later SP Kumar wrote this in his report and allegedly confirmed Dhoni’s involvement. After that SP Kumar was transferred from Internal Security to Railways. This incident grabbed many headlines at that time. While Meiyappan was banned by BCCI for life, no actions were taken against Dhoni.
