At the night of the incident in April 2017, the woman had consensual sex with Joe Clarke after a night-out. Clarke was Hepburn’s was Worcestershire teammate. But after feeling unwell Clarke left the bedroom.
That is when Alex Hepburn entered after drinking 20 bottles of beer. The cricketer claimed that the woman rolled over the bed and then kissed him. However the woman had a different version of the incident.
She said that her eyes was closed and was engaged in 20 minutes of sex thinking that she was with Clarke. However he later realized that it was Hepburn by hearing his voice. After hearing everything, the judge gave his verdict and said that the cricketer will definitely go to jail.
“I am adjourning your case for the preparation of a pre-sentence report. It would not be a kindness to you to leave you under any false impression as to the purpose of that report. There is only one sentence that can properly be handed down in this case, and a custodial sentence is inevitable,” the judge had said.
