Former Pakistan cricketer Shahid Afridi has released his autobiography ‘Game Changer’ on April 30. Since then the book has revealed many shocking aspects regarding different affairs of Afridi’s cricketing career.
Afridi has opened up on several matters which included his actual age also. He has also revealed the dressing room atmosphere at the time of his Pakistan debut. He has also shed light on the fights between him and his other teammates like Waqar Younis.
Among all such revelations one special aspect is the conflict with former Indian cricketer Gautam Gambhir. The rivalry started way back in 2007 with some verbal volleys which later turned into heated argument.
13 years have passed in between that incident, but the two veterans are still vying for superiority. The autobiography has added another nail to their animosity. Afridi has written some disrespectful quotes regarding Gambhir in his book.
The 44-year-old has said, “Gambhir behaves like he’s a cross between Don Bradman & James Bond. In Karachi, we call guys like him saryal (burnt up). It’s simple, I like happy, positive people. Doesn’t matter if they are aggressive or competitive, but you have to be positive & Gambhir wasn’t.”
