In May-June 2010, in tri-series against Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe, Kohli was named vice-captain for the first time. He also made his T20I debut against Zimbabwe and scored 26*. Later in the 2010 Asia Cup, Kohli batted at No. 3. However, he started struggling with his form for a couple of series. In October, Kohli regained his form by scoring a century against Australia.
