Five Players Who Might Not Play the 2019 World Cup

1. MS Dhoni

The former Indian captain’s performances has come a lot under the scanner in the last few months and his case is just like Angelo Mathews. When he performs well, there is no stopping him.

But when he goes through rough patches, his performances gets so worse that critics question him about his retirement plans. His excellent performance during the IPL brightened his place in the 2019 World Cup squad, but since then his performances has gone the other way around.

He has played 15 ODIs in 2018 and while batting in 10 innings, he has scored just 225 runs with an average of 28 which includes a high score of 42*. Against his career strike rate of 88, his current strike rate has gone way down to just 67.

With Rishabh Pant’s evolvement and inclusion in the international arena and subsequently Dhoni’s turning out a burden for the team, one would not be surprised if MSD decides to hang up his boots all of a sudden like he usually does.
